"Truth enlightens man's intelligence and shapes his freedom, leading him to know and love the Lord." Saint John Paul II
The concept of absolute truth teaches us that there are truths about God, ourselves, and the world around us that affect us whether we believe in or subscribe to those truths or not.
Examples of absolute truth would be anger, greed, hatred, love, lust (for power, money, sex, etc.), jealousy, and envy. There are things that seem to be present in the human condition regardless of culture, time, place, or other relative situations.
The Catholic Church teaches that without truth there is no freedom and without freedom there can be no real happiness.
To fully understand the concept of absolute truth and how it applies to your life and the world around you we encourage you to read this extraordinary Papal Encyclical: Veritatis Splendor. Along with reading this encyclical, pray the Rosary, in the hope that God will fill you with the Holy Spirit and open your heart to His truth.
